Green
Savane Properties has been building sustainably since before it was fashionable – for your health, and for our environment. In fact, to show our commitment to being green, Savane has on staff both a L.E.E.D.* Accredited Professional and a Certified Green Professional (CGP).**
From our background and training, we build homes to be energy efficient while using eco-friendly sustainable materials – but we also demonstrate the true financial payback to our clients of using efficient products and materials. Some of the design elements and green construction techniques we can recommend include:
Energy efficient windows and skylights
Using either Jeld-Wen, Marvin, Hurd or Pella products including thermal insulating inert Argon Gas infill between double panes of glass as well as Low-E glass coating to protect sunlight from damaging furniture and the home.
Energy efficient heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC)
Including using Carrier’s Infinity® Furnaces and Air Conditioners that provide the highest available efficiency on the market today. We also recommended a High Efficiency Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) to ensure clean outside air is mixed with the inside air.
Solar water heating systems
Which harnesses the sun’s heat to bring hot water to the home versus using fossil fuels.
Solar photo-voltaic (PV) panel systems
Which harness the sun’s energy to bring electrical power to the home.
Whole house insulating Envelope
Including BioBased® Insulation or “Closed-Cell” Polyurethane spray foam insulation providing the highest insulating levels to the home.
Sustainable lumber and flooring materials
Using a wide range of available “green products” that are Forest Stewardship Certified (FSC).
“Green” roofing systems
Which will provide increased energy efficiency to the home, lengthen the life of the roof, and reduce water runoff.
Low VOC paints
Which reduces contaminants inside the home.
Energy efficient lighting
Using Compact Fluorescent Lighting (CFL’s), LED lights or other energy efficient products.
